Fantastic original 1978 Mattel Godzilla Game, No. 2356, featuring wonderfully over-the-top late-'70s artwork and a mechanical pop-up Godzilla who attacks the spaceships as players move them around the platform.
Officially licensed by Toho and manufactured by Mattel in 1978, the game was designed for 2–4 players ages 5+. Players load their spaceships onto the rotating platform, spin and move around the board, never knowing when Godzilla will suddenly spring forward and snatch a ship. This example retains its wonderfully colorful original box and most of the multicolored spaceship playing pieces. One isn't and two yellow and magenta pieces are missing.
The turquoise plastic game base retains its vivid original illustrated graphics, mechanical spinner and dimensional pop-up Godzilla figure.
Condition: Good vintage played-with condition overall. Game base and graphics present very well for their age with normal surface/play wear. The original cardboard box has considerable storage wear, including worn and frayed edges, tears, creasing, surface-paper loss, damaged flaps and a heavily worn/torn end panel. Godzilla's face is peeling on one side. Please see detailed photographs.
