A striking 2016 New York City art quilt by award-winning quilter and designer Charisma Horton, measuring approximately 26" × 42".
The piece depicts a densely layered Manhattan skyline in luminous shades of turquoise, aqua, lavender, pink, yellow and blue. The cityscape is based on a printed architectural textile, which Horton has transformed through extensive custom quilting.
Look closely and the real artistry becomes apparent: individual buildings and architectural forms are delineated in thread, while dramatic radiating quilting sweeps upward through the sky. The stitching creates extraordinary texture and dimension across the surface, allowing the skyline to change subtly depending on the direction of the light.
The reverse reveals the extent of the quilting and is finished with colorful batik-style fabrics and a handmade embroidered New York label. The label identifies the work with “SE ’16,” dating the piece to 2016.

Very good pre-owned condition. The textile presents beautifully, with the quilting and colors remaining vibrant. Please examine the photographs, particularly the detailed close-ups and reverse, as they form an important part of the condition description.
This would be particularly wonderful displayed in a New York apartment or loft, a modern maximalist interior, or as part of a collection of contemporary American fiber and textile art.
