This vintage Tomy Playrail Merry-Go-Copter No. 1021 combines a battery-operated Take-A-Trip train with an elevator, helicopter ride, winding slide and colorful track system. As the train rides around the tracks, the magnetic peg people move from the train to a slide that sends them to an elevator that takes them up to a helicopter for a ride then back down to the train station and back onto the train to do it all over again. It's quite marvelous engineering for a vintage toy!
The set is remarkably complete and retains its original box. The train has been tested and is working, and the battery compartment is clean with no corrosion.
It includes an engine and car, helicopter, eight track sections, two depots, elevator building, Country Lane station sign, slides and four "rolling friends" (that's two extra!). The pieces have been checked against the set contents and all pieces are accounted for.
The bright primary colored plastic, little peg people passengers and mechanical play features make this a particularly fun example of late 1970s Tomy design.
